How to Twitter

Signing up for your free Twitter account is very easy. There are about 12 steps, (a 12-Step Program?) but none of them are tricky and none of them lead to anything horrifying. Unless you forget to uncheck the boxes of people they suggest you follow. Who cares what Newt Gingrich had for breakfast this morning??

You can un-follow anyone at anytime. And none of the Tweets go to your phone unless you specifically request it. In fact, you can sign up and choose to follow Liquid and have their specials and Tweet Treats sent to your phone, and you never have to visit Twitter again, if you don't want to.

Step 1: Go to www.twitter.com. Click on the Sign Up Now button.

Step 2: Fill out the form with your name, a username that you want others to see when they see your comments, and a password. When you choose names, Twitter will tell you if the name is already used by another member. If it is, you can change it by adding a number or something to make it unique. (Sorry, if your name is Fred Boisean - I've used your name as a sample for this demonstration. I'll make it up to you somehow, Fred...)

After filling in all the stuff, click Create My Account.

Step 3: If you want to invite your friends to join the Twitter Nation, you can do it. Otherwise, you can do what our friend, Fred Boisean, did and click Skip This Step at the bottom of the page.

Step 4: Fred chose to un-check all the boxes. Wasn't interested in following these people's idle thoughts and political haiku; he just wanted to get to the Liquid specials. He clicked the Select All box to get rid of the checkmarks. He probably could have just clicked on Skip This Step. (I'm getting concerned. Fred's becoming a little too real to me...)

Step 5: Search for LiquidBoise - click on Find People on the top right menu,

Then enter LiquidBoise in the space and click Search

Step 6: Yea! You've found Liquid! Click the Follow button. The Follow button will turn into a green checkmark and the word Following (as shown below, right.) Now that will make it so that the messages Liquid puts on Twitter will show up on your Twitter homepage. But you're not finished yet- you need to have the messages sent to your phone in order to make use of the incredible deals Liquid's putting out there! Keep going- you're almost finished!

Step 7: Click on Settings,

Then click on the Devices tab. Enter your mobile phone # and click Save.

Step 8: Text the top-secret code from your phone to the number shown to verify your phone number.

Step 9: Click on Home on the top menu. Click on Liquid's picture to go to their page.

Step 10: Click on the little circle icon next to the word Following. That will turn the icon green, which means Liquid's Tweets will be sent to your phone!

Remember, if you ever want to stop following anyone on Twitter, click the icon on the right and choose unfollow.

If you ever want to stop receiving anyone's Tweets on your phone, click the green icon to turn it off.

Oh, wait, that's only10 steps... Okay... so...

Step 11: Go apologize to anyone you've ever been a jerk to;
